Prayer Request for E

As some of you know, E has had a tough summer! Currently, he has a hernia in his abdomen about three finger spans above his belly button. The pediatrician that we saw (our's wasn't in last week) said that we needed a surgical consultation, and told us his nurse would set it up for the first available appointment. She called and told us that the consultation will be on Sept. 17th! We feel pretty uncomfortable with allowing him to have a hernia for a month before we even get the consultation. The nurse did too, and said she'd make sure that the pediatrician we had seen knew. She told me that if he thought it was OK that there wasn't anything that she could do. We haven't received a new appointment, so we're assuming he wasn't concerned. That hasn't necessarily alleviated our concern.

We're trying to decide if we should bring E back to see our regular pediatrician to get his opinion. We trust him very much, and if he says it is alright, then we'll feel more at ease. We also trust that if he is concerned, he'll put the right wheels in motion. Please say a prayer for E's body, for our peace, and for discernment on our part and the parts of the doctors involved.
